3 Ways to advertise your holiday rental for free

1) Social Media
To get results from social media you need to show up regularly. You don’t have to be on every social media platform going (there’s far too many). Instead choose 2-3 to do well. Be persistent and the results will come. Talk about your area and what there’s to see and do there, share other’s content and keep promotional posts to a minimum. “Advertising” on social media works via a subtle, drip feed effect. Not a “look at me”, “look here I am”, “Me, me, me” approach.

2) Word of Mouth
Spread the word not only in the locality of your holiday rental but also in the area in which you live (if different). Tell mums at the school gate that you have a holiday let, tell colleagues, tell friends of friends and get them spreading the word for you. Local to your holiday cottage ensure key local businesses know about you so they can tell their clients about you. In return, you’ll send your guests their way.

3) Blogging
Whether you’re posting to Google plus or adding a dedicated blog post to your website, blogging gets your message out there. Blogging helps position you as an expert in your local area. It offers your future and past guests valuable, interesting content. This immediately sets you apart from other owners who are doing no such thing!
