Homeaway – Structured cancellation policies

Homeaway have announced upcoming changes to their cancellation policies.

Once again they mimic Airbnb’s policies.
Maybe they should change the company name to HAirbnb.com (short for “Hairbrained”).

Anyway, here’s what they are implementing…

We’ve been improving our cancellation policies to make it easier for you to refund cancelled reservations.
No more calculations to figure out how much you owe your guests—instead you can select from a list of preset policies (strict, firm, moderate, relaxed, or no refund), and we provide travellers with the refund details based on your selection.
You don’t need to update your cancellation policy right now, but these changes will be coming soon to your listing’s “Settings” page.
Notice how Homeaway refer to it as “their” cancellation policy not the owners or managers.
The company haven’t stated the terms as yet but here are the cancellation terms for the Pay Per Booking (PPB) structure.
