How to become the centre of the vacation rental universe.

Helping site visitors and gaining extra bookings

Not that long ago, I wrote,

When someone discovers the centre of the vacation rental universe a lot of VR owners are going to be very disappointed to find out that it isn't them!

That said, there is in fact a simple method of marketing that does indeed put you right at the centre of your own vacation rental universe. Better still, if you adopt this method you will get more bookings.

And let’s face it we all want more bookings.

Let’s take a trip

First off you have to imagine that if I’m considering booking your rental it’s not because you rent a property.

It’s because I have decided to spend my vacation in your area and I need somewhere to stay.

Ask yourself this – Why would I choose your property over and above one of the others that are available to me in your area?

Think about that for a moment.

NO, really think about that. This is key to getting more bookings. This is key to the difference between success and failure.

Why would I choose your property

  • Sure enough good quality photos help.
  • So does a lower price (sometimes).
  • Maybe you have a hot tub and your competition doesn’t.

But what you need to bear in mind is that there is more to a vacation than the accommodation.

I, the potential guest, am wondering about what I’m going to do and see while I’m on vacation.

If you simply supply a list of major and / or local attractions, places to eat, places to visit with kids, a beach in the vicinity, the closest golf club, a local mall, etc. and you add how far these attractions, etc. are from your home you literally place your property at the centre of your destination micro cosmos.

Here’s an example of what this looks like.

You could add a map with markers if that works for you.

Either way this is marketing gold, easy to compile and super useful for potential guests as it removes doubt.

Anything that removes doubt helps with conversions.
